The Surface Go 2 (m3, not the Pentium) tells me to plug in the charger that came with the device when I plug in the USB-C charging cable I used with my original Go. Nothing too demanding, except maybe some light gaming (LoL, Minecraft, etc. Or is it really necessary to go after the M3 version?

We all know the tablet mode experience is sub par at best, I've stopped using it entirely. I am looking into purchasing the base Go 2 for the classroom and leaving my Book 2 at home. Just a few minutes of just setting up my email and a web browser and my surface is super hot. Is this normal is something wrong with my surface? Could you enlighten me on some possible problems the device has or things that I have to keep in mind?
