To improve your experience stabbing deaths of two men in a coastal Queensland town will investigate whether earlier intervention by police and paramedics may have prevented the deaths.Thomas Ian Davy and Corey James Christensen were fatally stabbed by Dean Webber, a stranger, after the pair ended up at his Alva Beach home in October 2018.Coroner Jane Bentley will look into the decision by Queensland Police not to charge and or prosecute any person in relation to the deaths.Today a pre-inquest conference was told Mr Davy and his friend of several months, Candice Locke, drove to The pair met Mr Christensen and were invited to join an NRL grand final party.The court heard Ms Locke's level of intoxication became "a subject at the party" and led to an argument with Mr Davy.Mr Davy then drove away from the party and parked a short distance away while Ms Locke stayed.Throughout the course of the evening Ms Locke sustained a fracture and came to be at the house of Mr Webber, a stranger.The court was told the sequence of events as to how she came to be there will be the "subject of fact finding" at the inquest.Police at the time had indicated the men forced their way into Mr Webber's home, although that is now disputed.The Coroners Court also heard four phone calls were made from the home.Two were made before the fatal stab wounds, which were a phone call by Mr Webber to Queensland Ambulance and one by Ayr police to the home.After the stab wounds were inflicted, Mr Davy called Triple Zero, as did Mr Webber one minute later.Outside court, Mr Davy's sister Katie Davy told 9News the family was "really grateful for everything the coroner is going to look into and we have trust in her that she's going to find the answers for us".
