This book is very different: it starts with explaining how negotiations work in principle and why having a fixed goal is detrimental to the success. Highly recommended read, especially the issue of safety during conversations In addition to the value in the book, there are links to a treasure trove of videos, research and other resources. This is a core book they encourage everyone to read, content is dry but some very good points made worth a read. Disabling it will result in some disabled or missing features. I got a lot out of it as it gave me lots of useful tools to use when I needed to compromise.

I takes some work and practice, for sure. It was an easy to read book, with more than three clear actionable recommendations on how to ‘prepare’ for a “Crucial Conversation”.Mark and Mike share with us that ‘feedback’ should be quick and frequent like breathing.

I am interested in communication and relationships but this is definitely one of my best reads with regards to practical advice and examples. Given the strong reviews this book has, I was expecting some wonderful accionable insights.
