I didn't realize there were 2 versions/releases of this same film for the US market, and the version I just received is the 2010 version which changes the music to the original JDM music and some of Jiji's lines are edited out.

Granted I must have watched the first one at least 10 times, but the box it seems is not DVD friendly - it's a standard box, but it's particularly brutal with its spindal. I just received the Blu-ray/dvd 2 disc combo (it is now May 2016) and although it's no one's fault but my own, I'm a tad disappointed :(. I bought this (and Spirited Away) a few weeks ago. The film makes you think about friendships, interdependence, and about soaring imaginations.

I've seen the film before and it's a lovely story about a young witch trying to find her place in the world.

Kiki meets her while attempting to retrieve a stuffed cat she dropped while flying overhead on her b… The drawings appeal, the movement is great and the story beautifully told.

While this film may not be my absolute favourite, to me this ghibli film has the best characters and relationships, love for all of them.

Whether the viewer is young or grown-up, it's unmissable.

Either will be better than the box it comes in. Anyway the only thing I'd like to warn folks about is that I am on my 2nd copy from amazon. This isn't the strongest of Ghibli fare, but maybe that's because studio Ghibli have produced some absolutely corking films.

But we each need to find our own inspiration.
