I don't go here but really think the campus is okay. From what I understand, however, from friends and colleagues that are still there, not much has changed, and in some ways the situation is even worse.I must preposition this with the fact that I am a Psychology major and therefore my rating is based off of my experience with SSU through that vein. There is something in the air and the hills surrounding campus are just lovely. I am not sure if this is a commuter school or not but I do know the settings are good. Everyone in admissions was cool before fall semester began but once I was in i felt like these people looked down at me like a poor Mexican kid. It's only 317 acres, but Kruse Rhododendron State Natural Reserve, a few miles south of Gualala, offers one of the prettiest walks you'll ever find, especially during mid-April through mid-June. No one helped and they kept tossing me from department to department. Please see the Pre-HD students must complete at least 30 units of GE coursework, including A1, A2, A3, B2, Stats (B4), ANTH 203 or PSY 250 or SOCI 201 (D1), ANTH 200 (D5) to be eligible to declare HD (see website for GPA and course grade requirments). They will ruin your life. It's also in Rohnert Park which is not a good representation of Sonoma County's beautiful sceneries and really doesn't have many activities. C3 - Comparative Perspectives and/or Foreign Languages It's a few blocks from the station. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sonoma State University has transitioned to remote instruction for fall 2020. Campus housing (at least for juniors and seniors) is amazing. The Sonoma State University Catalog is published annually and is record of all of the academic programs offered by the university. Do not underestimate the energy of a place when choosing a school. The teachers are caring and supportive. Pretty spacious living areas and newer appliances in the kitchen. I came in as a transfer student in 2009 and attended two years and lived on campus. And the faculty do not have a snooty, I'm-better-than-you kind of vibe. This school is for sure off our list. It's almost the same as hospitality but it's more in depth. It's a university and can get you a degree if that is what you want or need. I might give it a three, but there's really no reason to be around this campus unless you live close by and it is cheaper/easier for you to just go here instead of a higher caliber institution.I LOVE Sonoma State.
