It has such a creepy, eerie atmosphere to it.
He utilizes the frame and composes his shots with a lot of thought. The skeletal monks look almost identical to the ones in Tombs of the Blind Dead although one or two also appear to have had their faces coated in porridge rather than being skeletons (Although not credited it seemed to me that Franco himself dubbed the lead monks voice). The first half of the film is horror lite as we get to know the four girls including the magnificent…Another Franco/Romay/Mayans tripartite for Golden Films about a quad of strippers on a getaway at a gloomy seaside hotel in Gran Canaria. It will sadly not happen for them after this film.Ugh, this is typical cheap 80's Jess Franco fare. Four strippers take a vacation and wind up at a Spanish resort complex that, despite the hotel receptionist's claims of it being fully booked, appears to be completely empty.
Well, maybe a little more, because "Mansion of the Living Dead" is one of his better flicks. We get various sex scenes, which are sometimes erotic but after a while they become quite tiresome.
The sex scenes are a bit more tame than I have seen from him before but the movie still consists of naked skin for 70% of it's running time.
Both, I'm delighted/disappointed to say find a home in A simply plotted classic from the Jess Franco stable in which four hot girls go on holiday to a posh hotel on the Canary Islands and discover the nearby monastery has a deadly secret.Although never acknowledged as such this appears to be a rehash of Amando de Ossorio's Blind Dead series. Some solid camera work, but there is no mansion to be found, but there is an abandonded hotel and the film is filled with stupid characters and fake ugly-looking rubber masks. Like many Franco films, Mansion of the Living Dead is absurdly slow-paced but somehow weirdly watchable. Tag: the return of the living dead full movie in hindi download.
A fantastic soundtrack, weird scenes and the classic gothic-setting, which Franco could direct like none other make this one a must-watch for Horror-fans.If there are two things Jess Franco knows how to put into a move, it's blase isolationism and casual smut.
I can see why people think it's a bore, because there isn't really a lot happening, but I was entertained the whole time.
Of course there is a lot of nudity (a lot), but overall the horror-aspects are in majority. !It's clear that Jess knows what he's doing. It's very sleazy but doesn't really have any gore. This is the sort of movie that I'd probably love if I ever somehow got to see it in a theater -- at home, not as much. There's like these monk guys or something and many, many years ago they burned a witch at the stake so she cursed them to worship satan and get all skull-y faced and they had to rape women as punishment for the women being of the "friendly" sort and as a sacrifice to good old Satan. Can't vouch for their quality or just how…Films that are considered to be gory that I need to watch.
The imagery is a hodgepodge that seems pulled directly from Franco's subconscious -- using the sort of high-rise luxury hotel that's so common in his work as the jumping off point for a series of excursions into s/m, bland softcore, and a cult of skeleton inquisitors who initiate new members with their, um, cursed semen (wait, does that make them gay?). Tag: Night of the Living Dead Full Movie. Franco paints with movement, from the finer linework of bodies enmeshed or clashing together in tight spaces, the subtle movements of eyes in tight closeup, or the moving of a thrashing head in and out of frame -- to the broader strokes and colors of wide angles of the sea, the vaster movements of trees in the sun drunk grey air, or…Another Franco/Romay/Mayans tripartite for Golden Films about a quad of strippers on a getaway at a gloomy seaside hotel in Gran Canaria. Then a bunch of stuff happens, one of the girls goes missing, another "girl" gets snatched and sacrificed, some lady is chained up naked in a bedroom without food, Lina Romay gets possessed maybe and…Jess Franco.
L̶i̶n̶a̶ ̶R̶o̶m̶a̶y̶ Candy Coster is still her charming self.Franco essentially got paid to film his future wife Lina Romay having lots of lesbian sex while on vacation.
They are picked off one by one by a gang of Blind Dead inspired undead monks. In the interview on the…"Jesus Franco directing THE BLIND DEAD" is the best to describe this nudity and sleaze filled Spanish horror outing that only Franco can easily get away with as it has (the Sheri Moon Zombie to Franco's Rob Zombie) Lina Romay(THE HOT NIGHTS OF LINDA,BARBED WIRE DOLLS) and her three friends(Elisa Vela[CRIES OF PLEASURE,INTIMATE CONFESSIONS OF AN EXHIBITIONIST],Eva Leon[INQUISITION,I HATE MY BODY],Mabel Escano[OPEN SEASON{1974},LOVERS{1991}]),who all happen to be waitresses at a stripper bar,on a vacation at a Spanish beachside resort where they encounter the supernatural presences of a group of undead monks that take delight in assaulting and terrorizing them Released in a handful of countries as a fifth EVIL DEAD film(which this film actually isn't),MANSION OF THE LIVING DEAD features…A list that is trying to contain every horror film made that is not lost and is found on the…All the films from my exploitation lists, bundled into one mega-super-list-to-rule-them-all!This list was spawned from a conversation I had with a friend of mine, who was looking for some horror…A listing of the films covered in EURO GOTHIC: CLASSICS OF CONTINENTAL HORROR CINEMA by Jonathan Rigby.Ongoing ranking of all the '80s horror films that I've seen.A very subjective concept--gothic horror, gothic melodrama, gothic art films, gothic everything. An unofficial entry into the Blind Dead series, this film takes place at a deserted hotel where four waitresses have gone for a vacation. Your first and last stop on the WWW (World Weird Web) of horror. Thereee’s probably no movie more responsible for the birth of the modern horror film than George A. Romero’s “Night of the Living Dead”.
