This is a fun and pretty affordable way to go to Catalina Island at $74.50 for adult round trip ticket, $ 59.00 for a child age 2-11. Not only were we crammed next to strangers during the trip people were crowding waiting to exit the boat. Can't distance when your face is 3 feet away from a strangers face. The docks to actually board the boat is immediately outside (accessible for people who can't walk far). It. "Although my flight was delayed and then ultimately cancelled, every staff member on the flight and agent at the gate was so kind and helpful. Not like we have many choices...my private yacht needs painting and my helicopter needs gas. I tried booking online and it denies all of my credit cards. When we arrived we realized that we forgot to bring the original company-issued voucher which was required. Unsafe and unreal!

One of the passengers ahead of us stole one of our new sleeping bags on the way out and we couldn't hang out to file a claim because we had a flight to catch.

!We took the Catalina Express a couple weeks ago and in just an hours time we arrived to the beautiful island! We'll try again on the return, but today's overcrowding and poor  service was not worth the upgrade.The Catalina Express is a fun safe way to travel to a not to far off island in Southern California... known for it's exciting tourism year around.Catalina Express was a pleasant ferry ride over to Catalina Island.I have called 3 times and NOBODY ANSWERS. It was not a busy day on the island. Most people had their mask around their chins or under their noses. We had fun doing the touristy things: Sightseeing in a golf cart. All I can say that it really was uncomfortable having to wear a mask that everyone know doesn't protect you from COVID like my doctor told me. There are a lot of comfortable seats, a cafe, activity and tour information amd restrooms. The ride was smooth and fast. Our group of 15 people was comfortable and we were able to sit together downstairs and have a big table [actually 2 next to each other].

I have been to Catalina many times and had a great time but this was a BIG, expensive, mistake. Their app was easy to use (no complications…""Needed transportation from LAX to Anaheim for 5 of us.

Dogs must be leashed and secured in a full face commercial manufactured muzzle or an Airline-style Pet Carrying case… They also drive pretty fast so it's pretty fast.There is nothing like a quick 3 day weekend getaway to Catalina Island! People are not respecting mask / social distancing rules, and staff is oblivious - or chooses not to say anything to these people. I was nervous about how the boat was handling safety during this time and was assured by a ticket agent that many safety measures are in place, including boats being booked at 60% capacity to allow for social distancing and masks being required the entire time, including inside the boat terminals. There was NO social distancing and the boat was packed in. We saw a pod of dolphins on the way back which was pretty awesome! She conferred with other leads and they started calling other managers who might be on duty. We drove from San Jose to Long Beach during the President's Day week. On the website it said they had reduced capacity to provide for distancing. On Saturday when we arrived at Catalina Express Long Beach, the agent behind the counter was sympathetic towards our situation.
