Take your time and build a good army and secure the island the Chosokabe province is on and then from that secure position you can decide what path to follow. Right now, I am creating saves for each playable clan, with its starting daimyo or general having Sword of Amaterasu, and I have already had Date, Mori, Uesugi, Hattori and Shimazu (around 1st to 3rd turn).
