After looking at the ingition switch, talking with my Honda service mechanic and reading your recall bullitin, I believe you will agree that my ignition switch should have been recalled and replaced at no charge.
The 2003 Honda Odyssey continues with the worst models of the Odyssey car, arguably between the years of 2002-2004. We haven't had many problems with ours. Called the dealer this morning to see if our VIN # was on the list and it is not!!!
Van would not start and ignition switch needed replacement at a cost of nearly $550.

3) replaced ignition switch. I'm not asking Honda to take responsibility for normal repairs; however, I am asking them to take responsibility for repairs that are perhaps mfg.
and would not re-start found that van would stay running if key was turned to the run position and held there once you let go of the key the car would die, this is a very serious problem that needs to be addressed as there are millions of Honda's out there that may possible have a faulty switch and the car will die with no warning very dangerous!!! some other drivers helped him push it off the road and then someone used jumper cables and it started running again.
The vehicle is a 1995 Honda Odyssey with 128000 miles.
When key was turned to start, engine will start; however, upon releasing key to spring back to run position, engine would quit. 1)driving down the road going 70 mph, its a beautiful day on the interstate in tn.2)engine quits without warning. 2003 Honda Odyssey Transmission Problems . As of this letter, I have spent $3,388.30 on my Honda in repair and maintenance cost. and making it nearly impossible to start (key had to be held between acc and on). New switch purchased from dealer for $60 and diy replacement took approx. Swith disassembly revealed molten pitting on one contact.

We've owned our 1995 Honda Odyssey Van since it was new, and it's still going strong with 267,000 on the clock. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
The 2003 model has numerous reports of the transmission failing, slipping, hesitation between gears, jerking when shifting, whining, and shaking at higher speeds. I would appreciate any help regarding this matter & await your reply. On the way home from the auto part store it died again right in the middle of traffic.
In reading other things, my problem sounds just like the problem that brought about the 1997 model year ignition switch recall. We don't sell/share your email. And trying to get it to start again, finally after an hour it started. Ignition switch would have to be turned on and off several times before it would work, dealer replaced switch. I know that the recall was for 1997 Honda's and my Honda is a 1995; however, I purchased it used and the original switch could have been replaced in 1997 with the recalled ingition swicth. Went to auto parts store and had battery tested - was at 1/2 capacity so replaced it thinking it would solve the problem.
Consumer was experiencing intermittent starting problems. Honda chooses not to cover this defective part, since the VIN doesn't match their database search with the 1997-2000 recall. 1995 Honda Odyssey : ignition switch problem: I wrote Honda Motors and advised them that my Honda dealer believes I have an an ignition switch that should be subject to the NHTSA campaign no 02V120000 due to the nature of the failure.
