heat n bond ultrahold not sticking

I have been using Heat n Bond Ultra (after the people at the Joann store told me it would be ok, then later saying No, no dont use Heat n Bond Ultra) My question is-I have never had any problem-what is the cons to using the Ultra and just ironing it on and then stitching around it? Don't think it would work for turning under but works good for blanket stitch or zig zag. Hope this made sense!
